Bright, complex, and exciting, we haven't come across a brew method for this coffee that we didn't love. Admittedly, we may be somewhat biased in our admiration for Kenyan coffees, but this one truly stands out! Whether enjoyed as a bright, fruity, and juicy black coffee or a clean and vibrant milk coffee, this brew is sure to impress, no matter your preferred brewing style.

Karisa, located in the lush foothills of Mt. Kenya within Kirinyaga County, is esteemed for the superior quality and distinctive flavour profile of their coffees. The SL28 varietal, a heritage type known for its robust and resilient nature, is cultivated at elevations ranging between 1,500 to 1,800 meters above sea level. This high-altitude environment, combined with the region’s nutrient-rich volcanic soil, fosters the growth of coffee cherries that mature slowly, resulting in beans with exceptional density and complexity.

Post-harvest, the beans undergo a washed process, a method that highlights their natural clarity and brightness. During this process, the cherries are pulped to remove the outer skin, then fermented, and finally washed and sun-dried to perfection. This careful handling not only preserves the beans' integrity but also enhances their intrinsic characteristics. Consequently, Karisa’s coffee delivers a vibrant cup with an exquisite balance of flavours.
